About Us

The origins of Spec Ops can be traced back to 1957.  That's when the first construction project was begun by Spec Ops' founder, Jim Rasche.  He gathered the materials together from discarded glass crates to build a "childhood" clubhouse in his parents' backyard in Northern Kentucky.

The passion for building and the satisfaction derived from being able to "stand back" and look at accomplishments only achievable in the construction world motivated him to pursue a career in construction.  The childhood projects were important in developing the "hands-on" approach in the man who has been a construction professional his entire adult life.  From 1968 to 2012, he has had "hands-on" involvement in projects valued at over $8 billion in 12 states in his professional career.

After 34 years with the nation's largest general builder and two years with a major South Florida general contractor, Jim established Spec Ops, LLC to provide a professional construction alternative for building owners in an "overheated" South Florida construction market.  In the "contractor's" market of the mid 2000's, Spec Ops focused on delivering first quality construction and management service at a fair price, despite the "wind fall opportunities" of the market.  In today's "new normal" world of tight funding and rigid business controls, Spec Ops continues to maintain the vision of delivering extraordinary value with NO SURPRISES!

Whether our services include construction management, program management, general contracting, asset management or consulting, we build relationships as we deliver our services with the primary goal of becoming our clients' "Friend in the End!"

Client Testimonials

"We occupied both phases of the renovation exactly on the schedule they forecast and Spec Ops was sensitive of our needs in spite of significant challenges.  As a result of their efforts on our project, we are pleased to highly recommend Spec Ops, LLC to anyone considering utilizing their sources as a General Contractor or Construction Manager."

"Spec Ops provided construction management services for our project, which is a $230 million dollar high-end, twin 52-story known as Everglades on the Bay Condominiums.  This project is being built in a particularly overheated construction market making it extremely difficult to get the attention of the construction market.  Spec Ops was able to hire and organize necessary contractors and services in a very tight market and able to jump-start the project.  Additionally, Spec Ops was also able to avoid delay of the project through his efforts.  Mr. Rasche and his organization are very competent and were always available when needed on the project."
